The Danger of Despising Truth
Scripture: I Kings 22 1:37
This sermon concentrates on 1 Kings 22. King Ahab of Israel and King Jehoshaphat of Judah came together to discuss going to battle with Ramoth-gilead. King Ahab gathered about 400 prophets that rallied for the two nations to go to war, but King Jehoshaphat asked for a true prophet of God (Micaiah) instead, who would speak according to the Word of God, and not according to what the kings wanted to hear. Micaiah stood alone and spoke the truth about their misguided plans and how they were not according to God’s will. Pastor Brooks urges for true men to stand for the right and for the truth, even if it means standing alone to keep one’s vows.

The message is very true, and what I get is that in everything we do we must make sure that we don’t do the opposite of what God wants from us. We are responsible for every light that we get and not use to be better people.
